Sharrock to Leave Gate Thea Sharrock has announced that she will leave her post as artictic dorector of Notting Hill's Gate Theatre in April next year to concentrate on her freelance career. Her final production for the Gate will be Martin Crimp's version of Ionesco's The Chairs, which opens on Thursday 23rd November, having begun previews on Thirsday 16th. Sharrock is associate director of the Peter Hall Company for whom she directed Design for Living, Don Juan, Private Lives, Betrayal and Blithe Spirit. Prior to taking up her position at the Gate in 2004, she was artistic director of the Southwark Playhouse. Her production of A Voyage Round My Father, starring Derek Jacobi, is currently at Wyndham's Theatre and her revival of Equus with Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths is due to open at Gielgud on 27th February (previews from 16th).
