4th Soho Writers' Festival

In just over a week, Soho Theatre + Writers' Centre will be opening its doors for the 4th Soho Writers' Festival.

Taking place from 27th Ooctober to 15th November, this year's festival is bigger than ever, incorporating an eclectic range of workshops, productions, seminars, talks, comedy, debate and much, much more for anybody interested in taking a peek behind the scenes of the creative writing industry.

The line-up includes

  • an evening with Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger;
  • free lunchtime talks with journalist Brian Logan and theatre critic Michael Billington;
  • numerous Studio Short workshops and performances from Soho Theatre Company, Non-Fiction Theatre, Theatre and Beyond, Frantic Assembly, Yellow Earth Theatre, Polka Theatre and Talawa Theatre.

Highlights from Soho Theatre include the Nuts and Bolts series; a week of afternoon workshops (Monday 3 November - Friday 7 November) covering the basic building blocks of playwriting aimed specifically at first-time writers, or those needing a creative kick start. During the last week of the festival (Monday 10 November - Friday 14th November) the theatre will also be showcasing readings of new full length plays from Soho Young Writers' core group and shorts from the 14 - 19 year old group.
