Southwark Playhouse Must Move in the Next
Year
Southwark Playhouse's landlord has told the theatre that he wants it
to vacate the current premises within the next year, a statement from
the theatre said this week.
"We for some time, been considering the Playhouse's long-term
future.
"We have always known that we would need to move from our current
premises at some point and although we have been exploring a number
of exciting possibilities we have not yet secured a definite future
venue.
"We are therefore now appealing to all of our friends and supporters
to help in whatever way they can. In particular, if anyone knows of
a suitable building or development plot in the Southwark area, or might
be able to use their contacts to assist us in our search, we would love
to hear from you!
"As one of the pioneering cultural attractions in the area, Southwark
Playhouse has made an immense contribution to the artistic, educational
and community life of the borough.
If you feel that you can help in any way then please contact Chris
or Juliet on 020 7620 3494 or email them at admin@southwarkplayhouse.co.uk."
