TIF Changes Name and Announces Bursaries

The UK Theatre Investment Fund, set up in 1976 to give practical and financial help to young producers, has renamed itself Stage One, and is offering would-be "angels" the oppoutunity to invest sums as low as £300, through its new Stage One Club.

Since its inception, it has invested £3.4m in over 700 productions and has already committed £500,000 in 2005 - 2007. It is supported by FIFA, the international soccer organisation, the Cameron Mackintosh Foundation, the Wingate Foundation, the Society of London Theatre and Clear Channel Entertainment.

Its annual bursary scheme is intended to help up-and-coming young producers with cash and by providing an experienced mentor. It has just announced the 2004 Bursary recipients: Virginia Buckley, Louise Chantal, Dolya Dragasevic, Sally Homer, Cath Longman, Jenny MacDonald, Katy Quayle and Miranda Robinson, Andrew Nelson and Denise Silvey.
