Stoke’s Regent Theatre and the Potteries Museum in Hanley are working together to create a new community performance, For the King’s Shilling.
A 30-strong cast is working with a professional production team to bring to life events that happened to families from Stoke and the obstacles they had to overcome during World War I.
Director Laura Stacey said, “we have an extremely talented and thoughtful group of performers ranging in age from 8 to over 60.
"This is a really important community performance with cast members whose relatives served in the war. We’re hoping to create a creative and poignant performance.”
For the King’s Shilling will be staged at the Potteries Museum on Thursday and Friday, 30 and 31 October.
