Stoke’s “favourite pantomime duo” Jonathan Wilkes and Christian Patterson will be joined by Louise Dearman and Kai Owen for Dick Whittington, the Christmas 2014 production at the city’s Regent Theatre.

Wilkes will play the lead while Patterson will be Sarah the Cook. Dearman, probably best known for her roles in the musical Wicked, will play Alice while Owen, from the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, will be King Rat.

Wilkes said, “Dick Whittington is one of my very favourite pantos and I can’t wait for us to get started. We say it every year but we’re confident this year will be even bigger and better than ever.

“Seeing people leave the Regent with massive smiles on their faces at Christmas time is such a good feeling and being a Stoke lad myself, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else at this time of year.”

Andrew Nicklin, the Regent’s general manager, added, “Jonny and the team put in so much effort to make our panto one of the best around. The cast is very strong, so I’d urge people to snap up their tickets as soon as they can.”

Dick Whittington is at the Regent Theatre from Friday 28 November until Sunday 4 January 2015.
