Stones to Close The revival of Maries Jones' Stones in His Pockets (Duchess) will close on 2nd December, less than a month after it began previews. Last week the press night had to be postponed because of the illness of co-star Hugh Lee but now Lee has withdrawn from the production due to continuing ill health. Alternates John Cronin and Conrad Kemp have been appearing since then but the producers have decided that, as it has not been possible to find and rehearse a replacement for Lee in the available time, the only alternative is to cancel the whole production. "The play cannot be presented without covers," a press statement said." It hasn’t been possible to find another alternate cast and to rehearse them." However it is hoped that it will be possible to revive the production some time next year. The production was booking until 3rd March. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
