Dateline: 18th February, 2005
Street Trilogy on Tour Theatre Absolute is to tour Chris Connell's award winning Street Trilogy (Car, Raw and Kid) from the end of February to May. Car, which won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Time Out Award for best Fringe play in 1999, is a fast moving story about four car thieves, whilst Raw, another Fringe First winner in 2001, deals with street violence and murder. The third play, Kid, first shown at the Fringe in 2003, also has violence as its theme. Each play starts at a crisis point: emotion, physicality, violence. Notions of crime and punishment sit heavily at the heart of the trilogy. Those who perpetrate and those who suffer from crime, are brought together in heightened and dramatic situations which push the narrative to an edge, blowing into a maelstrom the relationship between conventional, privileged society, and the chaotic rituals of the criminal and the alienated. The three plays, although thematically linked, can be seen separately as each is self-contained. All last about 85 minutes (no interval) and are suitable for age 15 plus. Tour Dates
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
