Studio Salford New Season

Manchester's Studio Salford, one of the leading local venues for small-scale productions of new work for the stage at the King's Arms in Salford, has announced the first part of its programme for 2009.

The season actually opened last week with a double bill from writer Rob Johnston, mentioned in last week's North West News, of The Opposite of Claustrophobic and Now Breathe Out.

For the next production, Broken Echo Theatre presents Raving Beauties by Dave Simpson, set in the dressing room of a beauty contest where the competing girls eye each other amongst tension and jealousies. Following this, Elsie and Norm's Macbeth by John Christopher Wood from Trickster Theatre promises murder, betrayal and a stuffed panda. Mediamedea's latest offering is Plus One...? by Mike Heath: as Jay decides he can not go through life alone, he realises that he's going to have to make some changes before that significant other is going to land in his lap.

Further details including how to book can be found on Studio Salford's web site at www.studiosalford.com/.
