Dateline: 17th September, 2010
Studio Salford New Season Studio Salford, a leading Manchester venue for new theatre writing over the King's Head in Salford, has announced its season up to December 2010. Ensemble 52, which had a major success with Richard Vergette's As We Forgive Them at last year's 24:7 Theatre Festival, will open the season with Something Hidden by David Pattison about the poet Philip Larkin, starring Vergette and directed by Andrew Pearson. Following this, Rob Johnston's Under My Skin is a black comedy about guilt-free crime from Breathe Out Theatre directed by Brainne Edge. Mediamedea is unable to bring its scheduled production of Full House, Mike Heath's new black comedy, but something else is being planned to fill the slot in the schedule. Organised Chaos Productions will bring Keith Waterhouse's hit play Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell directed by Gayle Hare, and then Hit and Run Theatre Company will perform The Piece by Fringe First-winning playwright Terry Hughes about the struggle to maintain optimism and originality in a seemingly oblivious, insensitive and indifferent world. There will also be three Embryo events during this period in which performance work in development is tried out in front of an audience. David Chadderton
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
