Equity Wants 13.7% Sub-Rep Pay Rise Having agreed a minimum West End wage of £450 a week for performers and stage management and of £385 in April, rising to £400 in April 2011, with the Independent Theatre Council, Equity is to proceed with a 13.7% claim for performers and stage managment in the subsidised repertory sector and submitted it to the Theatrical Management Association last week. Currently the minimum for sub-rep performers is £352 and for stage management £324. Last year the same claim was rejected by the TMA and the union settled for a rise of 0.5%. The claim, the union says, is in response to overwhelming demnds from its members. The TTMA said it would not comment on any on-going negotiations.
