Made in India is a new play by Tamasha about motherhood and blood ties between women and nations coming to Contact Manchester February 21 to 22.
It focusses on Indian surrogacy against the backdrop of powerful global forces, a subject matter made more potent by changes to Indian law in August.
India has been regarded as the world’s ‘surrogacy hub’, one of a handful of countries legally offering commercial surrogacy to parents, an industry estimated to be worth more than £1.5 million.
The work is recommended for ages 14+.
