The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced the principal casting for the new Malby and Shire musical Take Flight, which opens on the 25th July (previews from 13th). The cast will fature Sally Ann Triplett as Amelia Earhart, Ian Bartholomew as George Putnam, Michael Jibson as Charles Lindbergh and Sam Kenyon and Elliot Levey as The Wright Brothers. Sally Ann Triplett is best known for her work in musical theatre which recently includes Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre, Miss Berta in Acorn Antiques The Musical at The Theatre Royal Haymarket and Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes at the National Theatre and Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the now infamous musical Carrie at the RSC and on Broadway. Ian Bartholomew appeared in the West End productions of Tommy and Dead Funny and as the Baker in the original West End production of Into the Woods. He has just finished playing the role of Shylock in The Merchant of Venice for the RSC. His film work includes Beyond the Sea, Prayer for the Dying and Little Dorrit. He is also well known for his role in the hit TV show Spooks. Michael Jibson is best known for his Olivier nominated role as Joe in Our House in the West End. He has also has appeared in numerous RSC productions as well as Brighton Rock at the Almeida. Television work includes Band of Brothers, directed by Steven Spielberg. His film work includes the current release of Flyboys. Elliot Levey has appeared at the National Theatre, Young Vic, Soho Theatre and the RSC. He is currently shooting the film Filth and Wisdom, directed by Madonna, and on television he appeared in Sex and the City. Sam Kenyon has appeared in two films Venus and the upcoming Sweeney Todd. His theatre has included The Soldiers Fortune, Amadeus, As You Like It (Wyndhams) and Sweeney Todd (Trafalgar Studios).
