Red Dragonfly Productions are looking for new work from established or emerging writers from British East Asian, South Asian and South East Asian communities for their Taking Flight Festival 2018.

From the submissions received, ten writers will be selected to participate in a free workshop from which three works will be selected for production at 2018's Festival. The three winning writers will receive £1,000 and script development support from dramaturge Ross Ericson.

Final works will be up to 60 minutes in duration, written for a cast of five who may double up and be suitable for family audiences of all ages.

Applicants must be over eighteen and based in the UK.

The deadline for submissions to the new writing competition is 1 October.

Taking Flight 2018 will take place in July; it is presented by Red Dragonfly Productions in association with Grist to the Mill.
