Terror: Death and Resurrection publicity image

Terror Returns to Southwark

Terror, in the form of Death and Resurrection, returns to Southwark Playhouse from 12th October, culminating on Hallowe'en.

This will be the seventh season of horror and Grand Guignol from new writing company The Sticking Place (in association with Seabright Productions) and cosnists of three premieres and a revival:

Country
By April De Angelis, directed by Hannah Eidinow
Two old friends, one supporting the other in her bereavement as her husband has died. But doesn't he live on in the memory, and in the things he did and may yet do? Something is stirring in the peaceful seclusion of the country and old friendships die hard.

The Exclusion Zone
Written and directed by Mark Ravenhill
A couple meet online and venture into the countryside for a romantic rendezvous, talking about seeing a horror film upon their return to the city. Real-life horror soon descends as fiction and reality collide and their inhibitions unravel.

The Unimaginable
By Neil LaBute, directed by Jason Lawson
A voice speaks from the darkness, challenging our perceptions of adult responsibility amidst the myriad dangers that the modern world presents to our children. A stark and disturbing exploration of the psyche of a killer.

The revival will be:

Reanimator
By William Ewart, adapted from the short stories of HP Lovecraft, directed by Adam Meggido
A medical student pursues ghoulish experiments in the dark underbelly of early 20th century America. This is a wild romp through the vivid imagination of HP Lovecraft, acknowledged by many to be the godfather of modern horror.
