The Broadway Theatre, located in Letchworth Garden City's iconic Art Deco Broadway Cinema building, is the UK's newest mid-scale regional theatre. Opening its doors next month, its programme is a mix of live performance and cinema screenings.
Theatre events include Waiting for God, a stage adaptation of the hit television series starring Roy Hudd and Nichola McAuliffe, which opens at The Broadway Theatre prior to a national tour.
Pilot Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal co-production The Machine Stops, an adaptation of the E M Forster short story, The Reduced Shakespeare Company's William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged) and 2Magpies Theatre's story of cyclists Lance Armstrong and Marco Pantani, Ventoux, all visit the venue.
For family audiences, the offer includes the first adaptation of David Walliams’s The First Hippo on the Moon from Les Petits Theatre Company, Julia Donaldson’s The Scarecrows’ Wedding from Scamp Theatre and a special performance of Michael Morpurgo’s The Mozart Question narrated by Morpurgo.
