David Hasselhoff, Barney Harwood and Su Pollard will appear in Nottingham Theatre Royal’s Christmas panto Peter Pan.

Hasselhoff who will play Captain Hook is best known for his roles as Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in Baywatch.

He said he was thrilled to be heading to Nottingham.

“I love performing in pantomime. It’s a fabulous British tradition and a great excuse to get the whole family together and enjoy a wonderful and entertaining time at the theatre.”

Harwood who won the children’s BAFTA for best TV presenter in 2007 will play Peter Pan.

Nottingham-born Su Pollard whose TV and stage career spans 40 years will play the magical mermaid.

Executive producer Jonathan Kiley said, “Peter Pan guarantees a treasure chest full of comedy, much seasonal silliness, along with stunning flying sequences.

“You're guaranteed to be hooked by the swashbuckling pantomime adventure which has enthralled audiences for decades and is the perfect festive treat for all the family.”

Jonathan Saville, the Theatre Royal’s director of sales, marketing and development, is delighted with this year’s line-up.

“This is a very special cast indeed. Peter Pan will be the biggest and best pantomime in the region this Christmas, and I’m sure that we’ll see our box office breaking records again this year.”

Peter Pan runs from Saturday 7 December until Sunday 12 January.
