Students of theatre design are invited to apply for the 2019 Linbury Prize.
The competition is open to final year students and 2018/19 graduates of theatre design degrees or postgraduate courses (recognised by the Society of British Theatre Designers or the Performance Design Education Collective), or courses that include modules of performance design.
Applicants should be officially resident in the UK and intend and have permission to remain until the end of 2020.
Twelve finalists, announced in July, will each receive £2,000 and their work will be presented at the Linbury Prize Exhibition which is held at the National Theatre in December.
Four winners will be chosen from the group of finalists, each receiving a cash prize of £2,500 and the opportunity to work with one of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Leeds Playhouse, Nuffield Southampton Theatres and Octagon Theatre Bolton.
The overall winner from these four will be announced in December.
The submission deadline is 12 noon on 1 July.
