The Mayor of Guildford's Variety Show

A celebration of the performing arts in the borough, Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is hosting The Mayor of Guildford's Variety Show on Sunday 12 March.

Paul Branch will direct an evening of entertainment featuring performances from local arts organisations, including The Boileroom, Guildford Amateur Theatre Association, Guildford County School, Guildford Opera Company, Guildford School of Acting, Guildford Shakespeare Company, Guildford Symphony Orchestra, The Man in the Moon, Surrey Choices—Rhythmic Collision and Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatre.

Branch said, "I am delighted that the Mayor asked me to work with all these incredible arts organisations. We are looking forward to an impressive variety of performances incorporating both music and theatre."

The event has been organised by the Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Gordon Jackson, who said, "having been heavily involved with the arts over the last few years as a councillor, I am keen to showcase the abundance and variety of talent that we have in Guildford".

The Variety Show will raise funds for his chosen charities and the Mayor of Guildford's Local Distress Fund. The evening also recognises the centenary of the birth of Honorary Freeman Bill Bellerby MBE, who was Mayor of Guildford for two consecutive years and who celebrates his 100th birthday on 13 March.
