Teletubbies

Big Hugs, the first live Teletubbies show, will visit the North East twice.

The Teletubbies—Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po—celebrate their 20th anniversary this year and will star in their first ever live show for the youngest audiences, which sets off on a nationwide tour in November. Featuring full-sized Teletubbies characters, bright colours, puppetry, movement, songs and actions, Teletubbies Live encourages young children to explore the world around them.

The show is produced by Fiery Light, in collaboration with licensor DHX Brands, and has been created and adapted for the stage by Richard Lewis, who also created and directed the hugely successful Peppa Pig Live shows. The show will also include new songs by BAFTA award-winning composer Mani Svavarsson.

Opening on 17 November at Manchester’s Palace Theatre, Big Hugs comes to Billingham Forum on 22 and 23 November and then returns to the region on 10 and 11 February, 2018, when it plays at Newcastle Theatre Royal.

Currently, the tour visits eleven venues and more are expected to be announced soon.
