The WiT Award

Submissions from UK residents who have worked in front of house or administrative roles, on stage, backstage, or in a creative capacity for at least two years are invited for the inaugural WiT Award.

To apply for the WiT (Writers in Theatre) Award writers can be of any age but should not have had their work professionally produced.

The submission should take the form of a full-length script which "contributes to our understanding of an aspect of the human condition or experience, from a writer with the capacity to enhance our political or social awareness". Full submission guidelines are available online.

A single winner, chosen by a panel of judges, will receive a new play commission of £8,000 and help with play development including a workshop and a presentation in front of an audience.

The deadline for entries is midnight on 2 March. The winner will be announced on 15 May.
