Theatre by the Lake is working alongside the Lake District National Park Partnership in producing a special community event on March 26 to celebrate the Lake District’s recently awarded World Heritage Site status.

The Prince of Wales has been confirmed as guest of honour and will be unveiling the official UNESCO plaque at the event at Crow Park.

TBTL will be providing cultural entertainment as part of the celebrations, including a performance by Olivier Award-nominated actress Elizabeth Mansfield from upcoming spring show Hymn to Love—Homage to Piaf, a piece from hit Christmas show The Secret Garden performed by Theatre by the Lake’s Young Company and an excerpt from Melvyn Bragg and Howard Goodall’s Cumbrian musical The Hired Man.
