TheatreRadio Announces New Award TheatreRadio is launching a new award for Best New Musical, but rather than having a judging panel made up of theatre critics, the winning musical will be chosen by the listeners of TheatreRadio. 2006 is the perfect year to launch the TheatreRadio Best New Musical Award, as London's West End has witnessed the arrival of around twenty new musicals in addition to the thirteen already in residence. Any musical that opened in London during 2006 is eligible for nomination. The list includes Avenue Q, Cabaret, Caroline Or Change, Daddy Cool, Dirty Dancing, Evita, Footloose, The Last 5 Years, Little Shop Of Horrors, Mack & Mabel, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Musical Of Musicals, Porgy And Bess, The Rocky Horror Show, Sinatra At The London Palladium, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Show Boat, The Sound Of Music, Sunday In The Park With George, Whistle Down The Wind and Wicked. One voter will win a goody bag containing a pair of tickets to see one of the Best New Musicals of 2006, CDs, posters, T-Shirts and more.
