Theatres Trust Conference 18: Adapt and Thrive - 16 October at the Lyric Hammersmith, London

The twelfth annual conference of the Theatres Trust will look at how Britain's theatres can remain viable in a continuingly challenging economic climate and how the necessary investment in theatre infrastructure can be achieved.

Amongst those taking part are Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Arts, Heritage and Tourism Michael Ellis MP, producer and theatre owner Cameron Mackintosh, chief executive of Bristol Old Vic Emma Stenning, CEO and artistic director of Manchester International Festival / Factory John McGrath, CEO and artistic director of The Albany Deptford Gavin Barlow and executive director of Citizens Theatre Judith Kilvington.

Jon Morgan, director of Theatres Trust, said, “across the UK, theatres continue to be at the very heart of their communities. And, despite a decade of austerity, very few theatre buildings have been forced to close.

"But we cannot afford to be complacent. We need to ensure that theatres are doing all that they can to adapt and thrive in a challenging, ever-changing environment.

"Conference 18 will bring together a broad spectrum of leaders and specialists with the shared purpose of increasing theatres’ resilience and securing the future of theatres for everyone.”

Theatres Trust Conference 18: Adapt and Thrive will take place on 16 October at the Lyric Hammersmith, London.
