Theatre at Home
Last month we reported on the theatre
company which advertised a performance for sale on eBay. Hard Graft
Thetare Company advertised for auction a performance in the buyer's
home of their touring show Thick as Thieves. When we wrote the
story, the bidding stood at £56.
Now the auction is over and the performance has been done.
Mark Whitely of Hard Graft reports:
We did the gig in South London (New Cross). The winners were a couple
of girls called Karen and Ceri and they loved it.
The winning bid was £97 (plus £20 postage/diesel) so
they got us very cheaply. I must add that so impressed were they with
our performance that they had a collection for us as well. Eighteen
people packed into their small dining room were all raving about it.
Karen sent this email yesterday: "Just wanted to drop you a
message to say thanks very much for last night. So many people have
contacted me today to say thank you and how much they enjoyed it.
Aside from me shelf, you managed to avoid trashing the place as well
!!!!!!!!!"
It really was a very different and once in a lifetime experience
which I think everyone appreciated."
