South East London's Albany arts centre also programmes the Canada Water Culture Space, on behalf of Southwark Council, providing another venue for its all-embracing range of events.

The season for this autumn provides gigs, spoken word, dance, cabaret and community events in addition to theatre—both finished productions and works in progress—and family shows.

In a new initiative, longstanding storytelling evening Story Jam will take place in both venues, hosted by Lucy Lill and Alys Torrance with a new line-up each night.

In addition to the three spaces at the Albany's home and the theatre at the Canada Water Culture Space, events also take place outdoors and season opener #Armingtheworld from Albany Associate company Teatro Vivo with Ice&Fire looks at the British arms trade in an outdoor event at Giffin Square, Deptford.

Oily Cart's multisensory Kubla Khan is limited to six young people at a time, each accompanied by an adult carer. There are separate performances for those who are deafblind with or without any cognitive impairment, for those with profound and multiple learning disabilities and for those on the autism spectrum.

Theatre events include Naomi Cortes's Not Bound Within (rehearsed reading followed by a Q&A), Strictly Arts Theatre's Freeman and Rebecca Atkinson-Lord's The Class Project.

For younger audiences, are Three Feathers Theatre Company's Tortoise and Rabbit, Colour The Clouds's Aleena’s Garden, Little Angel Theatre's Me…, Goblin’s Peter and the Wolf, Hikapee Theatre's Moonfall and York Theatre Royal co-production and Tutti Frutti Productions' Ugly Duckling at the Albany.

Story Pocket Theatre's Storyteller, Storyteller, Little Angel Theatre's Handa's Surprise, Colour The Clouds's Aleena’s Garden, Acá Theatre 's Better Together, One Moment In Time's The Enormous Turnip, Peut-Être Theatre's Tidy Up and The Pied Piper Theatre Company's Hare & Tortoise all take place at Canada Water Culture Space.

The Albany, on behalf of Lewisham Council, also manages and programmes the Deptford Lounge, a new cultural and community hub.
