Thriller Live

Could you - or someone you know - be Michael Jackson?

Thriller Live, the West End's next big musical, featuring the hit songs of Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5, is aiming to make one young boy's dreams come true - a starring role in the West End.

The producers are launching a major hunt to find an young undiscovered talent to sing the songs of the young Michael Jackson in the show, which will open on 2nd January at the Lyric, Shaftesbury Avenue.

Are you - or do you know - a young black, African-American or dual heritage boy aged 11 - 15 with an excellent unbroken pop/rock voice with a high range, who is exciting, confident and energetic?

If you - or he - have got what it takes, open auditions are being held on Sunday 23rd November at the Lyric. Just turn up to register from 10.30am with a passport-style photo and CV or details of any performing experience if you have it. You must be prepared to sing either "Ben", "I Want You Back" or "I'll Be There".

Thriller Live begins previews on Friday 2nd January. Press night is Wednesday 21st January. The show is booking for a strictly limited season to Sunday 29th March.

The show is produced by Paul Walden and Derek Nicol for Flying Music and Sony BMG Music Entertainment UK, in association with Adrian Grant for Key Concerts.

The performance schedule means that Thriller Live will be the first show with two West End performances each week on Sundays, at 3.00pm and 7.00pm. And with the credit crunch and high West End ticket prices seriously affecting theatre audiences, the producers have pegged top-price tickets for this limited season at £49.50, which is substantially less than the current West End norm of more than £60.00.

Derek Nicol, of Flying Music, said: "It's obvious to us from the recent early closing of West End musicals, cancellation of several planned UK tours, and the number of ticket discounts and promotions, that money is extremely tight and a lot of the current shows are struggling to fill their theatres. We want to make sure that Thriller Live is in the price bracket of as many people as possible."
