Dateline: 11th May, 2003 Be a TMA Awards Panellist Since 1990, the TMA Theatre Awards have been celebrating excellence in theatre across the UK. Awards are given for performance, production, design and front of house to applaud the contributions of all those who work in the theatre industry. The Theatrical Management Association has launched its campaign to find enthusiastic members of the public to serve as regional panellists for the UK Theatre Awards. As part of the judging process of the Awards, around 140 panellists are appointed each year throughout the UK to assess productions that they would normally see as part of their regular theatregoing. The Awards year runs from 1st September 2003 to 31st August 2004 and during this time panellists are asked to send in marks for productions they have seen. All successful applicants will receive a pair of complimentary tickets for each local theatre production they wish to see. You'll need to fill in an application form which is available from the TMA website - http://www.tmauk.org/files/tma_awards_applicationform.dot You'll be asked to list all the productions you've seen in the last twelve months, and the theatres at which you saw them, and write a short (150 word) review of one of them, commenting on direction and design as well as performances. The review must be of a production which you feel is worthy of a TMA Award. Anyone with a professional connection to theatre is not eligible to be a panellist. All the forms submitted by panellists will be collated by the TMA and a shortlist drawn up for each award. A panel of professional critics will then decide upon the winners.
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
