Toad and Don Juan at the Scoop

Toad Hall! and Don Juan in Love are the two shows which will comprise this year's free open air theatre season at The Scoop at More London.

For the eighth year running Phil Willmott and Steam Industry Free Theatre will return to the amphitheatre from 5th August to 5th September, with performances on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Adapted from events in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows by Steam Industry Free Theatre and the young people of Southwark, Toad Hall!, which runs for an hour, is at 6pm.

The young people of Southwark will devise and performe their own tale of Toad and the search for his X factor at 1pm in the Scoop on 15th June.

Don Juan in Love, from the play by Jose Zorrilla, is at 8pm and is aimed at adult audiences.

The handsome Don Juan is a devil with the ladies and a demon with a blade. History's greatest lover charms and murders his way through swash-buckling adventure and heartstopping drama. But as the sun sets vengeful ghosts gather to teach him there are consequences to a life of breaking hearts and destroying families. In this London premiere of the 1839 dramatisation, it's a brave young woman who proves to be the Don's downfall and his chance of salvation.

No booking is required for either of these shows - The Scoop holds 1,000 people - and they will be performed in almost any weather.
