From December 2004 as leading practitioners of Forum Theatre, Cardboard Citizens are happy to be hosting specialist training courses in various aspects of the Theatre of the Oppressed. The courses will be led by Augusto Boal and Adrian Jackson, with the participation of members of Cardboard Citizens, Britain's only homeless people's professional theatre company.

Our first training course will be a Joker Weekend led by Adrian Jackson, with the participation of Cardboard Citizens.

When?

How Long?
10am - 6pm Saturday and Sunday

What Will Happen?
This intensive two-day course will focus on the skills of the Joker (facilitator/'difficultator') and the dramaturgy of the Forum Theatre plays. The workshop will be responsive to the experiences of the participants and will include 'surgeries'. Issues to be covered will include: generating participation, stimulating nervous audiences, 'difficult' interventions, working with particular constituencies, how and when to end a Forum show.
