The Mysteries

From a hillside sheep farm in Eskdale to the roof of the former Tourist Information Centre in Whitby, theatre makers Chris Thorpe and Sam Pritchard have toured the towns and villages of England to capture a snapshot of communities in their new cycle of plays The Mysteries.

In the spirit of the original mystery cycle, they will be performed in each of several towns before heading to the Royal Exchange in Manchester where all six plays can be seen.

This production tours from September 10 to October 21 and arrives in Manchester October 25 to November 11.

Chris Thorpe is an associate artist at the Exchange. Sam Pritchard is associate director (International) at the Royal Court.

The cast includes Nigel Barrett, Benjamin Cawley, Nadia Clifford, Laurietta Essien, Hannah Ringham and Andrew Sheridan.
