Ray Jessel

Transatlantic Talent

On three Thursdays in May and June, London's Theatre Museum in Covent Garden will host a brand new series of musical soirées. Transatlantic Talent: Best of Both Worlds will showcase established and emerging British and American artists, with performances taking place cabaret-style in the Museum's Paintings Gallery.

With a scarcity of cabaret venues in central London, Transatlantic Talent: Best of Both Worlds will offer performers a new cabaret platform in the heart of the West End. In the first season of this musically savvy series, all three shows will take the form of a double bill of hand-picked performers paired for one night only.

Thursday 4th May
Holly Penfield & Ray Jessel
California-born Holly Penfield has been a luminary on the London cabaret scene for over a decade, whilst Cardiff-born Ray Jessel (himself now living in California) has enjoyed a career as a Hollywood screenwriter and Broadway composer.

Thursday 1st June
Dusty Limits & Rick Skye
Dusty Limits, a razor-tongued comic singer, has performed at the Pit Bar at the Old Vic, at the legendary Duckie and also on the Battersea Barge. He is a favourite performer with the Burly Q Revue and in Edinburgh's Bongo Club, and returns to the West End following his recent successful New York debut at Don't Tell Mama on West 46th Street and Joe's Pub in the East Village (part of the New York Public Theater).
New Yorker Rick Skye impersonates Liza Minnelli in his show A Slice O'Minnelli, which will arrive in London for the first time. This Broadway veteran and award-winning New York cabaret performer shines in a tribute with a twist, revelling in deliciously parodic lyrics and a pair of unquestionably alluring legs.

Thursday 29th June
Valerie Cutko & Oliver Tompsett
Cutko and Tompsett are both respected West End performers with repertoires extending far beyond the traditional musical theatre idiom.

All three shows start at 8.00, with the bar open from 7.30 (and during and after the show). Tickets are £12 (£10 ocncessions) and are available from 08700 600 100 or 0207 943 4750 and from the website www.transatlantictalent.co.uk.
