Traverse/Channel 4 Drama Link-Up Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre and broadcaster Channel 4 have come to a £300,000 agreement which gives the TV channel the first option on Traverse plays which may be suitable for broadcasting. Writers and directors from the Traverse will also work with Channel 4's drama department and Film 4 to guive them a taste of what working for TV/film is about, whilst Channel 4 drama and Film 4 will also send two directors to work at the theatre. On Monday of this week (20th August) the Traverse held a special Stage to Screen event in which the Traverse and Film4 teamed up to bring together theatre and film talent to discuss the links between their worlds, which was chaired by Mike Leigh and featured screenwriter Simon Donald.
