Autumn at the Tron Andy Arnold launches his first full season as Artistic Director of the Tron Theatre with four new Tron Theatre Company productions. The first is a world premiere, Six Acts of Love by Ioanna Anderson, which runs from 30th September to 11th October (previews from 26th Sept). Touching on themes of love, life and death, a woman reassesses her life in the wake of her husband's infidelity and her mother's struggle with dementia. The cast includes Una McLean and Jennifer Black and is directed by Andy Arnold. Six Acts of Love is followed directly by a mini Tennessee Williams season which features the classic play, (Suddenly Last Summer, from 28th October to 8 November, (previews from 24th Oct), a darkly poetic and disturbing one-act play about the mysterious death of a young poet Sebastian Venables. The play is also preceded each night by the short curtain-raiser, A Perfect Analysis Given by a Parrot. In addition, during the run of Suddenly Last Summer, the Tron Theatre Company presents the Scottish premiere of three short one-act plays by Williams in the Tron's Changing House, immediately following the main-stage show. Entitled Like the Rain, the bill includes Hello From Bertha, This Property is Condemned and Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen (28th October to 8th November). These plays features members of the cast from Suddenly Last Summer. Audience members will be able to book for all these Williams performances at a discounted rate. The season of in-house work is rounded off with the Tron's annual Christmas pantomime, Mother Bruce, from 2nd December to 4th January (previews from 29th November), a topsy-turvy take on the traditional tale of Mother Goose. There will also be a varied programme of visiting work.
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
