The Aequitas Collective and Folk Opera Iceland are bringing their "Twitter opera" #echochamber to Manchester’s 53Two venue on August 14 and 15 after a successful run in Reykjavik, Iceland earlier this year, and as part of a tour of the UK.
Based on Jon Ronson’s best-selling book So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed, the opera explores how we use social media and the impact it has on our wellbeing and mental health.
Through a live Twitter feed, audiences are encouraged to engage with the characters onstage, using their own social media accounts, as we ask ourselves: “where do we truly live? On or offline?”
