Christmas spirit: Rules for Living

Northampton’s Royal and Derngate is looking for two girls to take part in its production of Rules for Living, with auditions being held on Wednesday 2 August.

Sam Holcroft’s “brilliant and darkly funny” play explores what happens when an extended family gathers for a traditional Christmas dinner and each rigidly applies his or her own rules for living.

Royal and Derngate is looking for girls aged between 13 and 16 who must be between 5ft and 5ft 5ins tall. The character makes an appearance at the end of the play and has a short monologue. The two young actors will rotate between performances.

To request an audition, parents must register by 6PM on Monday 31 July. Forms can be obtained by e-mailing [email protected]. For more information, contact John Manning on 01604 655784 or e-mail [email protected].

Rules for Living, a co-production with English Touring Theatre and Rose Theatre Kingston, runs on the Northampton Royal stage from Friday 8 until Saturday 30 September.
