Two Revivals & a Premiere at the Union Southwark's Union Theatre is to present two musical revivals and a premiere in the next few months. In addition to the already announced Godspell (see out Coming Soon page) which begins previews on Wednesday (13th April) before opening on Friday (15th), the venue will also revive Lionel Bart's Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be from 13th May (previews from 10th) to 14th June. The new production is directed by Phil Willmott and the cast will be led by Hannah-Jane Fox, who created the role of Scaramouche in the original West End production of We Will Rock You at the Dominion, in the role originally played by Barbara Windsor in the 1960 Stratford East production which transferred to the Garrick. Then from 7th June to 2nd July the the Okai Collier Company will present a new musical, 1888, by Gerry Ware. Simon James Collier and Omar F Okai jointly direct, with Collier acting as producer and Okai as choreographer. The cast comprises Vlach Ashton, Angeline Bell, Stacey V. Bland, Stephanie Hampton, Matthew Ibbotson, Stephen Lloyd, Stephanie Parry, Phineas Pett, Craig Vincent Power, Dudley Rogers and Gemma Salter. The show follows the story of one of history's most infamous serial killers that occurred during the hot summer of 1888 that gripped the East End from Whitechapel to the "Bohemia" of Hoxton.
