Dateline: 24th November, 2002 ACW Seeks Welsh Language Theatre Board Members The Arts Council of Wales' Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru Steering Committee is pleased to announce the next major step in the development of the new Welsh Language Theatre company, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru. On Thursday, 21st November adverts appeared in the Western Mail, The Daily Post, Golwg and Y Cymro seeking applications from people to become members of the Board of the new company, and to submit expressions of interest in being a Chair. The Steering Committee set up by the Arts Council of Wales is seeking applications from interested individuals to sit on the Board. In order to ensure a transparent and fair recruitment process, only people who respond to the advert will be considered for membership of the Board. No individual invitations will be issued for membership. Work has been undertaken preparing the draft memorandum and articles for the new company and research work has been commissioned to inform the new Board of its options in setting up the Business Plan for the new company. All major decisions on the location of the company, its staffing structure, staff appointments, and its touring structure will be made by the new Board. It is therefore vital for the future of Welsh Language Theatre that this recruitment process results in the appointment of a strong, well-qualified group of people with the right complementary skills to take forward this exciting new venture. For further information on making an application to become a Board member of Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, please see the Arts Council of Wales' website or contact Sandra Wynne , Senior Arts Development Officer, Drama or Terence Williams, Scheme Administrator in ACW's North Wales office on 01492 533 440
