West End LIVE Returns West End LIVE, the world’s largest free theatre festival, will return to Leicester Square on 19th and 20th June, showcasing the very best of the West End’s theatre. West End LIVE brings a selection of top productions out into the open, live on a giant stage in Leicester Square. Last year, performances included Chicago, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Dirty Dancing, We Will Rock You, Avenue Q, Thriller Live, Oliver! and Priscilla Queen of the Desert - and the organisers Westminster City Council promise that this year's line up will be "bigger and better then ever before". Westminster City Council also organises many activities for families to enjoy, including interactive exhibitions from London’s leading museums and galleries, ensuring there is something on offer for everyone whatever their age. Nica Burns, president of the Society of London Theatre, said, "London has the best theatre in the world and West End LIVE is a fantastic opportunity for people to sample some of the West End's most popular shows for free" More than 200,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event. West End LIVE won The People's Choice 'Music Event of the Year' Award at the 2009 Visit London Awards.
