Vivienne Westwood

Westwood Dresses Rapunzel

British fashion designer and local BAC supporter, Vivienne Westwood, will be supplying the costume for the eponymous heroine of Kneehigh Theatre's production of Rapunzel at BAC. In consultation with Kneehigh Theatre and BAC, Vivienne Westwood is selecting a dress from her 2004 Exhibition collection, which ran at the V&A from 1st April to 18th July, 2004, adding a touch of couture to this unique and exceptional show.

Kneehigh and BAC’s Rapunzel will be a truly special folktale of a feisty heroine, loveable rogues, magic pigs, evil brothers and, of course, enduring love. Set in Italy where life is harsh, the angry sun burns down on the parched earth. A desperate father whispers gently to his baby daughter, “I will never forget you. I love you” and leaves her under a rapunzel plant.

The production runs at BAC from 7th December to 14th January (except 11th, 18th, 25th, 26th Dec & 1st, 2nd, 8th Jan).
