Goldilocks and the Three Bears continues at Newcastle Theatre Royal until 20 January 2019.

In Stage 3 at Northern Stage, Kitchen Zoo presents The Three Bears at Christmas (for the under-fives) until 5 January (various times although there are usually three shows a day). All but five shows before Christmas are sold out. Also until 5 January in Stage 1, the theatre presents its own production of Neil Bartlett’s stage adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

At Live Theatre from Thursday until 22 December, the venue presents Christmas Crackers, four new plays by Live’s Associate Artists “celebrating” Christmas.

At the Tyne Theatre and Opera House Cinderella, presented by Enchanted Entertainment, runs until 30 December.

At Alphabetti on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s The Sketch K.O. Show in which nine sketches will battle each another, with one winner becoming the undisputed heavyweight sketch of the North East! Then on Friday, Open Heart Theatre presents the December edition of impro show Let Us Make It up to You.

Until 23 December at the Simonside Community Centre, Bedeburn Road, Newcastle, Mendes Management presents Aladdin.

Aladdin continues at Gateshead International Stadium until 24 December.

Peter Pan opens at Sunderland Empire on Friday and runs until 6 January.

The final Sunderland Stages production of the year is The Six Twenty’s Mixtape Christmas, part comedy sketch show and part music quiz, at The Peacock in High Street West on Wednesday.

On Friday at Arts Centre Washington The Pantaloons present A Christmas Carol.

Beauty and the Beast continues at the Customs House in South Shields until 5 January (various times), and in the Studio until 24 December (also various times), the theatre presents Santa's Naughty Elf: Celebration of Calamity, a celebration of ten years of stories of Santa's naughty elf, Elfluent—a show for the under-7s.

Cinderella opens at The Maltings in Berwick on Saturday and runs until 30 December (various times).

Playhouse Whitley Bay’s panto Peter Pan (various times) continues until 5 January.

Oddsocks returns to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham from Thursday until 29 December (various times) with Robin Hood and the Revolting Peasants.

On Saturday, The Suggestibles’ Impro Pantso comes to Seaton Delaval Arts Centre.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs continues at the Gala Theatre in Durham until 5 January (various times) and in the Studio until 30 December (various times), the theatre presents its Christmas show for the under-5s, Once upon a Christmas. Many of these shows are already sold out.

Beauty and the Beast runs until 31 December (various times—not Christmas Day) at the Consett Empire.

Hambledon Productions present Christmas with Steptoe and Son at The Witham in Barnard Castle on Wednesday.

Peter Pan continues until 6 January at Billingham Forum (various times).

Tutti Frutti’s The Ugly Duckling continues at ARC Stockton until 23 December (for age 3+; various times).

Extravaganza Productions Ltd in association with Middlesbrough Theatre present Dick Whittington at Middlesbrough Theatre until 6 January.

Until 6 January, Darlington Hippodrome presents Aladdin (various times).

Until 29 December, The Hullabaloo in Darlington presents Luna, a show for 2- to 5-year-olds (various times).

Cinderella opens on Friday at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre and runs until 30 December (various times).

On Friday Sleeping Beauty opens at The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond and runs until 13 January (various times).

Jack and the Beanstalk continues at Harrogate Theatre until 20 January (various times). In the Studio on Saturday, Nunkie Theatre presents two M R James ghost stories, Oh Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad and The Ash Tree. Because of the demand, an extra performance has been added at 5:30.
