The National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday.

Live Theatre's Scratch Night is on Thursday and on Friday it's the Live Lab Launch Event.

The Circus of Horrors comes to the Tyne Thetare and Opera House on Friday.

Dirty Dancing returns to Sunderland Empire on Tuesday and runs until 14th February.

As part of Sunderland Stages, Mimika Theatre presents Landscapes on Saturday at 10.30am, 12noon, 2pm and 3.30pm at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens (for children aged 4 to 11).

Liang and the Magic Paintbrush from Crooked Timber Theatre (for age 4+) is at the Queen's Hall in Hexham on Wednesday at 4.30pm.

The Tiger Who Came to Tea comes to Billingham Forum on Sunday 1st (1.30 pm) and Monday 2nd February (10.30am and 1.30pm).

On Saturday (10.30, 11.30 and 1.30) Little Angel Theatre presents Handa's Surprise (for age 2 to 6) at ARC Stockton.

At Darlington Civic this week the Russian State Ballet and Orchestra of Siberia present Coppelia on Thursday, Swan Lake on Friday and The Nutcracker on Saturday.

The great-great grandson of Charles, Gerald Dickens, performs his one-man version of Great Expectations at the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Saturday.
