Priestley’s An Inspector Calls revisits the Theatre Royal in Newcastle from Tuesday to Saturday.

At Northern Stage on Tuesday and Wednesday, Luca Rutherford presents the ARC production Learning How to Die in Stage 3 and on Friday Torben Betts’s new version of Get Carter begins previews, running until 5 March.

It’s Live Lab Elevator week at Live Theatre with a double bill of Red is the New Blue and Heartbeats and Algorithms on Wednesday and Friday and a further double bill of work in progress on Thursday with Lists for the End of the World by fanSHEN and preggers by Amy Golding, plus a special performance of Unfolding Theatre’s Putting the Band Back Together.

The Circus of Horrors—The Night of the Zombie comes to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on Saturday night.

On Friday and Saturday Bawren Tavaziva’s Africarmen, a dance production based on Bizet’s opera and set in Africa, comes to Newcastle’s Dance City.

The Last Tango comes to Sunderland Empire from Tuesday to Saturday.

M6 presents Tadpoles (for age 5+) in which two rival superheroes must work together to save the world at Arts Centre Washington on Saturday at 11AM and 2PM.

South Shields Customs House holds its second Scratch Night with two new pieces of work by local writers on Tuesday. This is a Pay What You Decide event in Dalton’s. In the Main House on Friday and Saturday Talking Scarlet presents Dial M for Murder.

Horrible Histories (Groovy Greeks and Incredible Invaders) comes to Billingham Forum from Tuesday to Saturday at various times during the day, with the last show being at 6.30.

Tabs Productions presents Alan Ayckbourn’s Snake in the Grass at Middlesbrough Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday.

On Sunday at 2PM, it’s Pongo’s Party (for age 3 – 7) at Hartlepool’s Town Hall Theatre.

On Wednesday, Precious Cargo presents Into Thin Air at ARC Stockton.

From Monday to Saturday, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap returns to Darlington Civic.

Middle Ground Theatre brings Agatha Christie’s A Murder Is Announced to Harrogate Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday.
