The 39 Steps comes to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal from Monday to Saturday.

David Almond’s The Savage opens at Live Theatre on Thursday and runs until 23 July.

On Saturday, the National Youth Dance Company brings Michael Keegan-Dolan’s In-Nocentes to Dance City.

At Alnwick Playhouse this week, Curious Monkey presents Preggers at 2:30 and 7:30 on Tuesday and on Wednesday at 7:30, Maple Tree Entertainment Ltd presents Chaplin—The Charlie Chaplin Story, a new musical play.

On Monday and Tuesday, Oddsocks brings its steampunk musical adaptation of Macbeth to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham.

On Tuesday, Durham’s Gala Theatre presents its first scratch night, Next Up…, five works-in-progress. Then on Sunday Chaplin—The Charlie Chaplin Story comes to the venue.

Kynren—an Epic Tale of England opens at 9:30PM on Saturday at Flatts Farm, Bishop Auckland, and runs every Saturday night (varying times) until 17 September.

Chaplin—The Charlie Chaplin Story visits Billingham Forum on Tuesday.

At 2:30 on Sunday, Blunderbus Theatre presents My Pet Monster and Me (for age 3+) at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.

The regular scratch night at ARC Stockton, ARCADE, is at 7PM on Wednesday, featuring four works-in-progress.
