Mary Poppins continues at Newcastle Theatre Royal until 29 October.

The Season Ticket continues at Northern Stage until 8 October in Stage 1 while Unfolding Theatre’s Putting the Band Back Together runs in Stage 2 from Wednesday to Friday.

At Alphabetti Theatre this week, Théâtre Sans Frontières presents Chernobyl @ 30 (see our news story) from Monday to Wednesday and on Thursday and Friday it’s the turn of Make Do and Mend from Changing Relations (news story). Saturday sees the October WriteBack, five script-in-hand performances of new plays from emerging writers: These Four Walls by Rebecca Graham, The Cycle by Dale Jewitt, Hitler, Grapes & Toesocks by Melanie Hunter, Running by Rachel Burns and Evil Karate School by John Schoenboom.

On Friday at 6 and on Saturday at 1:30 and 6 at Dance City, the Jasmin Vardimon Company presents its new version of Pinocchio, aimed at age 7+.

Ghost the Musical comes to Sunderland Empire from Monday to Saturday.

Chernobyl @ 30 comes to Arts Centre Washington on Thursday.

Fans, part-gig and part-theatre show, is at POP RECS in Stockton Road, Sunderland on Saturday, part of Sunderland Stages.

On Wednesday and Thursday at 8, The Lamppost Petition runs in the Studio at the Customs House in South Shields. Then on Sunday at 11 and 2 in the main house, TaleGate Theatre Productions presents a musical for children, The Giant's Loo Roll.

On Sunday at 6, Ballet Cymru brings Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs to Alnwick Playhouse.

The Lamppost Petition comes to the Henry Travers Studio at The Maltings in Berwick on Friday. This show is free but tickets must be booked in advance.

Chernobyl @ 30 is at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Friday and Saturday.

Charles Ross’s One Man Star Wars is at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Monday.

The Russian State Opera brings Bizet’s Carmen to Billingham Forum on Friday.

Under The Bed—A Grown Up Fairytale is at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre on Wednesday.

Jabberwocky Market presents a range of theatrical events on Darlington this week from Thursday to Sunday. There are full details in our news story.

There are three productions at the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond this week: on Wednesday and Thursday, Cold Comfort Farm meets A Picture of Dorian Gray in The Wish House, a tongue-in-cheek version of Rudyard Kipling’s story of obsessive love; on Friday, Mikron Theatre presents Pure and on Sunday at 2 it’s the turn of Penguin! Elephant! for children aged 3+.

In the Harrogate Theatre Studio from Monday to Saturday, Townsend Productions premières its latest play, Dare Devil Rides to Jarama, a play about the Spanish Civil War, commissioned by the International Brigades Memorial Trust. From Tuesday to Saturday in the Main House, English Touring Theatre and Orange Tree Theatre in association with Exeter Northcott Theatre presents Terence Rattigan's French Without Tears.
