Scottish Ballet brings its production of Hansel and Gretel to the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, from Wednesday to Saturday.

The Greyscale/Northern Stage co-production of Dr Frankenstein by Selma Dimitrijevic opens at Northern Stage on Friday and runs until 11 March.

David Walliams’s The First Hippo on the Moon (for age 3+) comes to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on Saturday at 1:30.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Sean Burn presents with added nuts at Alphabetti and on Friday and Saturday Conrad Murray & Battersea Arts Centre presents DenMarked.

On Wednesday at 7PM, Dance City launches its new season’s programme (free).

From Monday to Saturday Wonderland, starring Kerry Ellis, Wendi Peters and Dave Willetts, comes to Sunderland Empire.

Putting the Band Back Together is at the Customs House in South Shields on Tuesday.

The Berwick Broadcasting Corporation presents The Golden Age of Wireless in the Henry Travers Studio at The Maltings, Berwick, on Saturday at 7PM.

Opera della Luna brings two one-act operas, Croquefer and L’Ile de Tulipatan by Jacques Offenbach (sung in English), to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Saturday.

Bobby Ball’s The Dressing Room comes to Billingham Forum on Saturday.

ARCADE Scratch: New Writing returns to Stockton’s ARC on Tuesday at 7PM, performed and directed by MA Theatre and Performance students (and friends) from Northumbria University, Newcastle. There will be eight rehearsed readings. On Wednesday Unfolding Theatre presents Putting the Band Back Together.

On Thursday The Chef Show comes to Saltburn Community Theatre.

Blackeyed Theatre brings Frankenstein to Harrogate Theatre from Thursday to Saturday.
