Thoroughly Modern Millie, starring Strictly Come Dancing's Joanne Clifton, comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Monday to Saturday.

At Live Theatre on Thursday, there’s a Scratch Night of new work in development from Northumbria University Theatre and Performance MA students.

At the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on Sunday, Morgan & West present their new magic show, Parlour Tricks.

From Thursday until Monday 17 at 7PM, Theatre Space North East’s Plays in the Park 2017 season in Sunderland begins with Henry IV Part 1. The promenade performance is in Roker Park and begins at the beach entrance.

On Sunday 16 July at 1:30 and 4PM, Cbeebies’ Mister Maker & The Shapes Live! comes to the Playhouse Whitley Bay.

David Walliams’s The First Hippo on the Moon (for age 3+) visits Billingham Forum on Wednesday (4:30) and Thursday (10:30 and 1:30).

From Monday to Saturday, Bill Kenwright presents Ruth Rendall’s A Judgement in Stone starring Andrew Lancel, Sophie Ward, Deborah Grant and Shirley Anne Field at Harrogate Theatre.
