From Monday to Saturday, Simon Brett’s stage version of Ruth Rendall’s A Judgement in Stone comes to the Theatre Royal Newcastle.

Apart from some community and youth work, Northern Stage decamps to Summerhall in Edinburgh for the Fringe from Saturday until 26 August.

Alphabetti offers a second “sneak peek” at its new premises in St James' Boulevard, Newcastle, on Friday, with music provided by Dansi and Holy Moly and the Crackers. The entrance fee will contribute to the development costs. 

La Cage aux Folles comes to Sunderland Empire from Tuesday to Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday, Theatre Space NE presents a new version of Robin Hood at 1PM and 3:30PM in Mowbray Park, Sunderland. Meet at the Museum and Winter Gardens for this promenade production.

A different show each night at the Customs House in South Shields for The South Tyneside Comedy Festival.

From Monday to Thursday (noon and 2:30), Theatre Space NE’s promenade production of Robin Hood is at Alnwick Castle. Meet at the Knight’s Quest. On Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 they present their production of Henry IV Part 1. Meet in the Castle Courtyard.

ABD Productions presents Peter Pan at Playhouse Whitley Bay from Thursday to Saturday at 1:30 and 6:30.

Steelworks Theatre Company presents Peacocks, Lobsters & Us, a dance theatre take on the mating game, at ARC Stockton on Monday at 7PM and 8:30PM before going to the Edinburgh Fringe. This is a “pay what you decide” performance.
