From Saturday until 9 September Mel Brooks’s Young Frankenstein starring Ross Noble, Lesley Joseph, Dianne Pilkington, Summer Strallen and Hadley Fraser comes to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal prior to its West End run. These are the only pre-London performances.

From Tuesday to Saturday Ion Productions presents End of the Pier by Neil Armstrong at the Customs House in South Shields.

On Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 2:30, The Maltings and Rocket Opera presents the Berwick Festival Opera production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

In the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr, in Harrogate on Wednesday at 7:00, The Pantaloons Theatre Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In the same venue on Friday, all-male theatre company The Lord Chamberlain’s Men presents The Comedy of Errors. Tickets for both productions can be booked at Harrogate Theatre’s box office.
