Lucy Bailey’s touring production of Agatha Christie’s Love from a Stranger comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal to from Tuesday to Saturday.

At Northern Stage (Stage 2) from Thursday to Friday, Javaad Alipoor presents his one-man show The Believers Are But Brothers which explores the smoke and mirrors world of online extremism, anonymity and hate speech.

On Sunday 17 June, Live Theatre will present Theatre Uncut: The Power Plays, plays which have been written in response to the centenary of women’s right to vote and the #metoo movement. The performers and directors get the scripts at 10:30 and will perform them in the Live Garden at 3:00. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.

At Alphabetti on Wednesday and Thursday, Jade Byrne presents her one-woman play Pricks, a show about having Type 1 Diabetes.

From Thursday to Saturday, Canny Craic Theatre Company presents local writer Ken Reay’s World War I play The Butcher’s Bill at the Customs House in South Shields.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oddsocks brings its musical sci-fi version of The Tempest to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham.

Dragon, a new play by local writer Bob Jeffrey about a soldier returning from Afghanistan suffering from PTSD, is at The Exchange in North Shields from Thursday to Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday (various times), Tall Stories brings children’s show (for age 4+) The Snail and the Whale, based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, to Middlesbrough Theatre.

At ARC Stockton on Thursday at 7:00, mala voadora & Chris Thorpe present Your Best Guess, a show about the plans we make for the things that don’t happen.

From Thursday to Saturday in The Studio at Harrogate Theatre, Maya Productions presents Croydon Avengers by Oladipo Agboluaje. A freak accident gives three teenage refugees powers beyond their wildest dreams and they use them. The show blends comic book visuals with action-packed martial arts to tell a funny, powerful story. In the Main House on Saturday and Sunday Dinosaur World Live is aimed at families with children aged 3+.
